Union Coop Commercial Centre proposal in Al Khawaneej I
In order to keep Union Coop as a local and a unique mall around UAE the design concentration was mainly inspired by the Islamic Art used throughout the history which is the Mashrabiya element. Typically, though not entirely, Islamic art has focused on the depiction of patterns, whether purely geometric or floral.
As we can see in this image the technique we used to generate this design was formed from a triangle and geometric element which were extracted from an Islamic pattern that aided us to form a rich and an outstanding Islamic façade.
This design (Modern Islamic Art) reminds us of our UAE culture and the improvements we have made throughout the centuries by developing and translating our own Islamic traditional elements to pure modern architecture without disremembering our origins.
